Long-lost Da Vinci "Salvador Mundi" Discovered

It's not every day that Renaissance art from the great Leonardo da Vinci is discovered in a private collection and goes to auction.

The depiction of Jesus is well known to art scholars as many copies of the original were made by students and admirers of da Vinci.  This was thought to be one of those copies for many years.  During a restoration of the portrait some very da Vinci-esque techniques were discovered.  XRay analysis confirmed it to be the long-lost original.
